The Riggs Centre is a specialist provision for primary aged pupils with complex social communication difficulties.

We have a dedicated classroom within the main body of the school which offers a calm and less distracting environment for individual or small group work.

The children are supported by trained teaching assistants, knowledgeable in working with language and social communication disorders.

Some, but not all, of the children may have a formalised diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Asperger’s Syndrome.

Children have access to a speech and language therapist as part of the centre provision. Additional advice and support can also be sought from other external agencies such as Educational Psychology and Learning Support Service.
