Year 6 Residential at Shrewsbury 2018

Day one,

Having an amazing time already.Think Tank was brilliant, 4 floors of hands on science experiments and fun activities. We even got to dress up as pilots through the ages and ride on a huge steam locomotive, then it was back on the coach for a short while before arriving at PGL. After being given our rooms we were off to the dinner hall to refuel and then onto a sports night where we played monkey football, dodgeball and space hopper football.

Shrewsbury Day 1

Day two,

We woke up to snow!!! After a good nights sleep we went abseiling, tunnel trailing, aeroballing, zipwiring, low roping and became archers that Robin Hood would have been jealous of. It is cold but we are having so much fun we haven't really noticed it and after a lovely lunch of jacket potatoes, soup and the salad bar we were refuelled and ready to go again. Then after a busy afternoon of more activities, it's off to refuel again ready for the campfire tonight. When we come home you will probably hear us singing some of the new songs we will be learning tonight, then it's time to hit the hot showers and get tucked up in bed so we are ready for new adventures tomorrow.

Shrewsbury Day 2

Day three,

After a big cooked breakfast we were off to the Black Country museum where we visited lots of shops that were very different to the ones we are used to! We learnt that the boys always allowed the girls to go through a door first and then held out their hands to help them step off the curbs. We also went into the canal system that they used for mining, and did you know that the children had to work down there from 9 years old, maybe we shouldn't moan about tidying our rooms so much! Then it was back to PGL for some wacky races.

 Shrewsbury Day 3

Day four,

After another big cooked breakfast we went on the Giant Swing, Orienteering, got muddy in the tunnels, Archery, Low ropes challenge and Abseiling. It rained a little bit, but we didn't care and it was only a shower ( the teachers said we could all do with one of those anyway!) We are all dressed up for the disco and ready to bust some moves on the dance floor. You can expect some exhausted, dirty and very happy children on Friday evening.
