Vision for Bi-Lingual Learners

 

We believe that every bi-lingual learner at MPPS should feel that their home culture and language is an important part of their personal identity and pupils of every nationality feel fully welcomed into the school.

We offer a carefully planned approach ensuring that those who arrive in our school with little or no English feel confident in their new setting. A system of young interpreters enables new entrant bilingual learners to access their learning, socialise effectively and make progress.

We recognise the importance of family involvement and actively seek ways to communicate our school ethos and encourage the involvement of parents of bilingual learners.

We strive to take full account of the widely differing school experiences of new entrant bilingual learners in order to meet their needs, ensuring that all staff share the same high expectations for progress, behaviour and achievement.
