The Creative Cook’s Club is now in its third year and has proved to be very popular. It is open to all pupils in years 3 and 4 running on Tuesday afternoons until 5pm, and years 5 and 6 on Thursdays until 5pm.
The club provides opportunities for the children to have fun with food, learn new techniques and skills and try new ingredients as well as developing their independence and confidence.
Each group of children attend sessions for a six week period for a total cost of £7.
Every session focuses on a country or particular type of food. Based around that theme we learn about different ingredients and cooking methods, bake a relevant product, try related foods and bring our creations home. Club members also receive a pack with baking terms and safety tips as well as receiving a copy of every recipe.
We operate a waiting list system where parents sign a slip to register their child’s interest. Then, when a place becomes available, a letter is sent out with the start and finish dates of the group and a request for payment.
Letters of request to go on the waiting list are available from Mrs Ruth in the ELF Room.
Time: 3.15 – 5.00pm
Length of club: 6 weeks (8 children)
Led by: Mrs. Ruth and Mrs. Williamson
